Wash&DRANK SpeakEasy Reveal

Have you every wished your laundry room was more appealing? Do you feel if it was more inviting and looked better, then you wouldn’t mind being in that space? Well, that’s exactly how I felt for years. The space was just boring and lacked character, and I so desperately wanted to change that.

Before we get into all the makeover details, let’s go down memory lane.

This is basically how it looked when we moved in. Beige on the walls and oak cabinets. Like I said before it was very basic.

I attempted to do a mini refresh and paint the cabinets black which I loved and ultimately kept for the newest makeover. Even though I liked the Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black cabinets, everything else was still just basic including the white walls.

I wanted the laundry room to make me smile just as I feel when I walk in the other rooms of my home. With it being the first space we see when we come in the house from the garage, it was a must to make it over.

I knew I wanted something bold in this small space. It had to make an impact. I decided to go with the Cole and Son Savuti Wallpaper. The images and color of the paper made it the perfect choice.

Once the wallpaper was installed, I knew this white washer and dryer had to go. So I went on the hunt for the perfect replacement. I ultimately chose the Samsung Side by Side Top Load Washer and Electric Dryer with a rose gold knob.

After selecting those major features of the space, it was time to bring in the accessories to pull the entire room together. I brought in the following:

Tending to My Garden Artwork by Sew Trill x The Milan Holly

Artwork by Monica Lewis

Canisters from Whitney J Decor

Lemon Verbena and Geranium Ceramic Face Candle by Justina Blakey for Target

Isoke Cabinet Knobs by Anthropologie

I also decided to paint the trim, ceiling, and doors in Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black. What I didn’t want is white trim and doors to take away from the boldness of the space. White would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

This makeover wouldn’t have been complete without the Alturus black and brass light fixture. There is different a story behind it, but I will save that for another time. After we got the light put up, this room was complete. It turned out better than I imagined. Now, I can’t wait to wash in this room and maybe have a cocktail or two while doing so.
