Work from Home Order

Happy Thursday friends!! Of course, we all know that everyone’s state is in quarantine mode. We also know that most people are working from home. Now more than ever, you want a space that you can enjoy while working from home. You definitely want a space that will help alleviate the frustrations with our many virtual meetings that we all are over by this point. Check out these tips to create a space that you will love.

  1. Find a space in your home that you can actually use to get some work done. It could be a full office room, a space in your living room or bedroom, and/or a converted closet.

  2. You will need some type of storage system. You may use a book case, file cabinet, or even decorative containers. You will need storage for pens, pencils, paper, and other important work items.

  3. You can DIY a desk, refurbish a desk, purchase a desk, or use a table. It should be a size that will fit your needs.

  4. You will need to get comfortable seating. It will get extremely uncomfortable if you don’t have the right chair. It can also become a space where you don’t want to be because you aren’t comfortable.

  5. You will need an adequate light source. This may be a light above or a desk or floor lamp. It just needs to be enough so you can see clearly.

  6. Make your space visually appealing by using coffee table books, a rug, plants, family photos, and artwork. You can make a feature wall or even wall paper your ceiling.

  7. If your space is large enough, you may use additional seating such as a chaise lounge, two chairs, a small loveseat, or a bench.

Here are a few examples of some beautiful home offices.

My home office is filled with art work, books, accomplishments, large glass desk, a chaise lounge, and plants. This space has everything that I need. I store my extra pens and paper in a file cabinet that is tucked away in a nearby coat closet.

Who wouldn’t want to work in this beautiful space designed by Cheryl of Dwell by Cheryl. The wallpapered ceiling makes this space more than just a standard office space. It is full of textures, patterns, and a mix of colors. The chandelar gives this space the right amount of bling that ties the entire room together.

Interior Designer Alvin Wayne’s home office is warm, cozy, and inviting. He created his space with a non-traditional desk. He chose a beautiful table where he has enough space to lay out his work essentials. He included multiple chairs so someone or 3 other people can occupy the space with him. He added beautiful artwork, plants, and a stunning rug.

Ursula Carmona of Homemade by Carmona designed her home office inside of a closet. If you were to close the doors, you would not know that a beautiful office was tucked inside. She was able to use built-in shelves for storage, include artwork, and a chandelier in this small but mighty space.
