One Room Challenge: Week 3, Lights, Camera, Action

Hey friends!!! Welcome to week 3 of the One Room Challenge. All of the pieces for my master bathroom is coming along perfectly. There are so many wonderful details to this space, and I can’t wait to share it all with you. I knew joining the One Room Challenge as a guest participate would be the perfect challenge to push me to get this space transformed. There are many things that have been checked off my to do list, but I still have to paint the tile floor, re-glaze the sink, change out the shower faucet, and style the space. I’m also considering tiling the shower floor.

One of the details that have taken place in the space is replacing all the light fixtures. My husband is quite the handy man, so he was able to install every fixture. Light fixtures is like putting on your lipstick. It has to be done right to bring the room together. You definitely can’t redo a room and not update your light fixtures. I was very selective of the light fixtures that I chose for this space. I knew I wanted to use mostly brass fixtures in this space since the room was black and white. I knew that it would be perfect against the black or white elements in the space.

These are the West Elm Staggered Glass 2-Light Sconce. These were placed over the bathroom vanity.

The light fixture that I originally ordered from West Elm for the toilet room was way too big for the space and I had to send it back. I just loved it so much that I failed to measure for it. Let’s just say epic failure. I did find another light that is perfect for that space, and I can’t wait to have it installed soon.

Here is a reminder of how the fixtures looked before we upgraded them.

I hope you can see what I mean about upgrading the light fixtures. An outdated fixture can just destroy all of the other elements in the space.

Please continue to come back to my blog so you can see all of the updates as well as visiting the One Room Challenge. There you will find the progress on all the featured designers and guest participates.

Thank you all for following along and please stay tuned for more.
